Commercial Information Circular No. 478/2005

European Union (EU)* : Imposition of a Definitive Anti-dumping Duty on Imports of Certain Stainless Steel Fasteners and Parts Thereof Originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 177/2005 of 25 May 2005, the Council of the EU has published a regulation to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of certain stainless steel fasteners and parts thereof originating in, inter alia, the mainland of China. A copy (pdf format) of the regulation is at Attachment for reference. Salient points are set out below -

(a) Product : Certain stainless steel fasteners and parts thereof, falling within CN codes 7318 12 10, 7318 14 10, 7318 15 30, 7318 15 51, 7318 15 61 and 7318 15 70.
(b) Rate of Duty : 27.4% of the net, free-at-Community-frontier price before duty (except for two companies whose individual duty rates are 11.4% and 12.2% respectively).
(c) Effective Date : 20 November 2005.
(d) Duration : Five years.
(e) Collection of Provisional Duty : Amounts secured by way of the provisional anti-dumping duty imposed since 22 May 2005 will be definitively collected at the rate of the definitive anti-dumping duty. Any amount secured in excess of the definitive duty rate will be released.
