Telex : COMEU B 21877

  1. The EC initiated the expiry review on the basis of a request lodged by the Eurometaux on behalf of producers representing 80% of the total Community production of tungsten carbide and fused tungsten carbide. It was alleged that there would be a continuation or recurrence of dumping and injury to the Community industry with the expiry of the anti-dumping measures.

  2. The existing anti-dumping measures will remain valid until completion of the expiry review. Definitive anti-dumping duties on tungsten carbide and fused tungsten carbide originating in the mainland of China have been imposed since 10 April 1998. The rate of duty is 33% of the net, free-at-Community-frontier price before duty.
