Commercial Information Circular No. 183/00

European Union (EU)* :Revised Community Eco-label Award Scheme

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 154/2000 of 23 October 2000, the European Commission (EC) has adopted a Commission Decision (the Decision) to establish the application and annual fees for the Community eco-label. A copy of the Commission Decision is attached  (pdf format) to this Circular for reference.
 

  1. The Decision establishes the application and annual fees of the Community eco-label. The application fee relates to the cost of processing the application of the eco-label while the annual fee relates to the use of the awarded eco-label. For the application fee, the EC has set a minimum and maximum fees of EUR(Euro) 300 and EUR 1,300 respectively. The annual fee will be 0.15% of the annual volume of sales within the Community of the product awarded the eco-label. The minimum and maximum annual fees per product group per applicant are set at EUR 500 and EUR 25,000 respectively. For both the application fee and annual fee, a reduction of 25% is provided for small and medium enterprises in the Community and also product manufacturers as well as service providers of developing countries.
