Commercial Information Circular No. 38/96

European union (Eu) : Imposition of Definitive Anti-Dumping Duty on
Imports of Certain Tube or pipe Fittings, of Iron or Steel, Originating in
the People's Republic of China (PRC)

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 15/96 of 9 February 1996 concerning the extension of the provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of certain tube or pipe fittings, of iron or steel, originating in the people's Republic of China, the European union has published a Regulation (the Regulation) in the Official Journal of the European Communities to impose definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of the product originating in the pRC. The Regulation also applies to such imports originating in Croatia and Thailand. A copy of the Regulation is appended to this circular for reference. Details on imports originating in the PRC are as follows

  1. Product :
    Tube or pipe fittings (other than cast fittings, flanges and threaded fittings), of iron or steel (not including stainless steel), with a greatest external diameter not exceeding 609.6 mm, of a kind used for butt-welding or other purposes, falling within CN codes ex 7307 9311, ex 7307 9319, ex 7307 9930 and ex 7307 9990;
     
  2. Rate of Duty :
    58.6% of the net, free-at-Community-frontier price, before duty;
     
  3. Effective Date :
    4 April 1996; and
     
  4. Collection of Duty :
    The amounts secured by way of the provisional anti-dumping duty shall be definitively collected in full.
