Commercial Information Circular No. 597/2012

The Mainland of China : Decision on Expansion of the Scope of the Pilot Policy on Changing the Levy of Business Tax to Value-added Tax by the State Council Executive Meeting

Premier Wen Jiabao chaired a State Council executive meeting on 25 July 2012. The meeting concluded that from 1 August 2012 to the end of 2012, the scope of the pilot policy on changing the levy of business tax to value-added tax for transportation industry and certain modern service industries will be expanded from Shanghai to other regions including Beijing, Tianjin, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Hubei, Guangdong, Xiamen and Shenzhen by batches.
