Dear Sirs,
Commercial Information Circular No. 40/2009
The Mainland of China : Notice Concerning Implementation of Export Duty Exemption for Exports of Cereals and Grain Flour not Subject to Quota Administration to Hong Kong
The General Administration of Customs has recently promulgated the implementation details of export duty exemption for exports of cereals and grain flour not subject to quota administration to Hong Kong, which took effect on 12 January 2009. Mainland exporters should submit duty exemption applications and present export contracts, invoices and related proofs to the relevant Mainland customs authorities before exporting cereals and grain flour not subject to quota administration to Hong Kong. The Mainland customs will assess the applications and for those applications which meet the relevant requirements, export duty would be exempted. The relevant exports should be supplied for local consumption in Hong Kong only. If re-exports of the products concerned are found, Mainland customs will seek repayment of export duty for such re-exports from the exporters concerned. A copy of the relevant notice is attached at Appendix (pdf format) for reference.
