Commercial Information Circular No. 295/2009

The Mainland of China : Notice Concerning Further Increasing the Export Tax Rebate Rate for Certain Commodities

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) and the State Administration of Taxation issued a notice dated 3 June 2009 announcing that, with effect from 1 June 2009, the export tax rebate rates for certain commodities will be increased. The major adjustments include:

  1. increasing the export tax rebate rates for transmission apparatus for televisions, sewing machines, etc. to 17%;
     
  2. increasing the export tax rebate rates for agricultural deep-processing products such as canned food, fruit juice, raw silk; some mechanical and electrical products such as electric gear pump and semi-trailer; optical instruments; drugs such as insulin products; and commodities such as suitcases, shoes and hats, umbrellas, hair products, toys, and furniture, etc. to 15%;
     
  3. increasing the export tax rebate rates for certain plastic, ceramic and glass products, certain aquatic products, tools for turning, etc. to 13%;
     
  4. increasing the export tax rebate rates for certain iron and steel products such as steel alloy, iron and steel structures, scissors, etc. to 9%; and 
     
  5. increasing the export tax rebate rates for corn starch and alcohol to 5%.
