India : Preliminary Findings on Anti-Dumping Investigation concerning Imports
of Cold-rolled Flat Products of Stainless Steel originating in or exported from,
inter alia, the Mainland of China

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India has announced provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of Cold-rolled Flat Products of Stainless Steel originating in or exported from the Mainland of China, the Taiwan Province, Japan, Korea, European Union, South Africa, Thailand and the United States. The notification of preliminary findings dated 27 March 2009 can be accessed at

  1. The subject product is "Cold-rolled Flat Products of Stainless Steel" classified under India's tariff heading 7219.31, 7219.32, 7219.33, 7219.34, 7219.35 and 7219.90. The rates of the duty are set out below:

For those companies from the Mainland of China as specified by the India Authority, the duty rates range from USD90 to USD860 per metric tonne. The Indian authority has recommended the provisional anti-dumping duty to be imposed from the date of the notification, i.e. 27 March 2009.

The Bureau is responsible for, among others, conducting anti-dumping investigations, and guiding and coordinating enterprises in the Guangdong Province in responding to anti-dumping investigations against products from the Guangdong Province.
