Commercial Information Circular No. 177/2009

India : Initiation of Anti-Dumping Investigation on Imports of Viscose Staple Fibre excluding Bamboo Fibre originating in or exported from the Mainland of China and Indonesia

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India has announced the initiation of an anti-dumping investigation against imports of viscose staple fibre excluding bamboo fibre originating in or exported from the Mainland of China and Indonesia. The notification is available at

  1. The subject product is "Viscose Staple Fibre (VSF) excluding Bamboo Fibre," classified under India's tariff heading 5504.10.00. The Indian Authority has indicated that sufficient evidence of dumping of the subject products from the Mainland of China and Indonesia, injury to the domestic industry, as well as causal link between dumping and injury exists to justify the initiation of the anti-dumping investigation. The injury investigation period covers the period from April 2005 to December 2008.
