Commercial Information Circular No. 573/2008

The Mainland of China : Notice Concerning Increasing the Export Tax Rebate Rates for Certain Labour-intensive Products and Other Commodities 

The Ministry of Finance and the State Administration of Taxation issued a notice on 17 November 2008 announcing that the export tax rebate rates for certain labour-intensive products and other commodities will be increased with effect from 1 December 2008. The major adjustments include: 

  1. increasing the export tax rebate rates for certain rubber articles and wood articles from 5% to 9%; 
     

  2. increasing the export tax rebate rates for certain moulds and glassware from 5% to 11%;
     

  3. increasing the export tax rebate rates for certain aquatic products from 5% to 13%;
     

  4. increasing the export tax rebate rates for suitcases, shoes, hats, umbrellas, furniture, bedding, lamps, watches, etc. from 11% to 13%;
     

  5. increasing the export tax rebate rates for certain chemical products, and non-ferrous metal processing materials like stone, etc. from 5% and 9% to 11% and 13% respectively; and 
     

  6. increasing the export tax rebate rates for certain mechanical and electrical products from 9%, 11% and 13% to 11%, 13% and 14% respectively.
