The Mainland of China : Notice Concerning Strengthening Quality Supervision on Export Products Issued by the Ministry of Commerce
The Ministry of Commerce issued a notice on 22 September 2008 ordering all local commerce agencies to strengthen quality supervision on enterprises producing and exporting dairy products, foods, medicines, toys, furniture, etc. Local commerce agencies should set up special quality supervision working groups and establish an export product quality reporting system on products that may affect consumers' health and safety such as dairy products, foods, medicines, toys, furniture, etc. Any serious export product quality incidents should be reported to higher authorities without delay and no concealment is allowed. Export enterprises should also be responsible for recalling all products with problems immediately. A copy of the notice is attached at Annex (pdf format) for reference.
