The Mainland of China : Cessation of Exemption from Inspection and Export Food Examination for Food Production Enterprises
The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine issued two notices concerning the "Cessation of Exemption from Inspection for Food Production Enterprises" and "Cessation of Exemption from Export Food Examination for Food Production Enterprises" on 17 September 2008. According to the notices, the exemption from inspection and exemption from export food examination for qualified food production enterprises would cease to take effect from 17 September 2008. The exemption from inspection labels appeared on food products and printed packaging are no longer valid. Food production enterprises should also stop using the certificates of exemption from export food examination or make related propaganda immediately. Copies of the relevant notices are attached at Annexes I and II (pdf format) respectively for reference.
