Dear Sirs,
Commercial Information Circular No. 393/2008
The Mainland of China : Notice Concerning Implementation of the Measure of Quick Inspection and Quarantine Release for Imported and Exported Goods
The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine has recently issued a notice announcing the implementation of the measure of quick inspection and quarantine release for imported and exported goods with effect from 18 July 2008. The measure is aimed at enhancing the efficiency of customs clearance for imported and exported goods. "Quick inspection and quarantine release" refers to the provision of efficient and facilitative services for imported and exported goods satisfying certain conditions by the inspection and quarantine agencies. For example, qualified imported goods do not have to undergo inspection and quarantine at the ports of entry but only when they reach the final destinations. For qualified exported goods checked by inspection and quarantine agencies at the places of origin, enterprises may simply present the customs clearance form and apply for clearance direct with the customs authorities at the ports of departure. A copy of the notice is attached at Appendix (pdf format) for reference.
