Commercial Information Circular No. 340/2008

Viet Nam : Technical Regulation on Safety of Toys

The Ministry of Science and Technology of Viet Nam has recently proposed a regulation laying down the technical requirements, labelling, testing methods for toys intended for children under 14 years of age. 

DETAILS

  2. The regulation promulgates the general safety standards and corresponding safety requirements for toys. The regulation specifies the quality properties related to safety, health of users, corresponding testing methods; and basic requirements for quality management for domestic production, import and delivery of toys in the market. It applies to organizations and individuals that manufacture, import, distribute and retail toys. A copy (pdf format) of the proposed regulation which sets out the full details is appended in the Annex to this circular.
     
  3. Viet Nam would consider comments from its trading partners before it implements the proposed regulation. Any such comments should reach the following on or before 1 August 2008:
