Dear Sirs,
Commercial Information Circular No. 491/2007
The Mainland of China : Notice Concerning Allowing Individually Owned Stores Set Up by Hong Kong and Macau Residents to Engage in Computer Services, Software Services and Other Business Sectors
According to the provisions of the "Supplement IV to the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement" signed between Hong Kong and the Mainland on 29 June 2007, the Mainland will further liberalise the business scope of individually owned stores set up by Hong Kong permanent residents with Chinese citizenship in the Mainland from 1 January 2008. To ensure the smooth implementation of this measure, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce issued a "Notice Concerning Allowing Individually Owned Stores Set Up by Hong Kong and Macau Residents to Engage in Computer Services, Software Services and Other Business Sectors" to various local offices of industry and commerce. A copy of the notice is attached at Appendix (pdf format) for reference.
