The Mainland of China : Industry Standard for Supermarket Shopping Environment
The Ministry of Commerce has entrusted the China Chain Store and Franchise Association (CCFA) to formulate the "Industry Standard for Supermarket Shopping Environment", which will be effective as the national trading standard from 1 October 2006. The "Standard" sets out the basic requirement of floor environment, installations and equipments and the affiliated facilities, among others, in supermarkets. The "Standard" is also applicable to the retailers that feature open-shelf layout, pooled cashiers and that run major business on food. These retailers include supermarkets, hypermarkets, convenience stores, discount stores and warehouse clubs, etc. Full text of the "Standard" is attached at Annex (pdf format) for reference.
