Commercial Information Circular No. 226/2005

The Mainland of China : Administrative Measures on Inspection, Quarantine 
and Supervision of Imported Fruit

It is reported in CIC No. 35/2005 dated 27 January 2005 that the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) has promulgated the Administrative Measures on Inspection, Quarantine and Supervision of Imported Fruit. According to the Measures, fruits to be transhipped via Hong Kong to the Mainland shall be packed in containers and shall enter the country in the original container, original package and with the original phytosanitary certificate issued by the plant protection authority of the exporting country (The Three Originals). The container number should be shown on the phytosanitary certificate. The kind of fruits permitted for importation and the Three Originals must be confirmed by the AQSIQ approved inspection organization in Hong Kong.

  1. The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department was recently informed by the AQSIQ that the China Inspection Co. Ltd.has been approved as the inspection organization in Hong Kong. Traders may find the application procedures and other essential information in the Company's website at http://www.cichk.com/notes/fruit.htm.
