Commercial Information Circular No. 210/2005

The Mainland of China : Provisions on the Administration of Residents of the Taiwan Province, Hong Kong and Macao Working in the Mainland

The Ministry of Labour and Social Security promulgated the Provisions on the Administration of Residents of the Taiwan Province, Hong Kong and Macao Working in the Mainland on 14 June 2005, which will take effect from 1 October 2005. According to the Provisions, residents of the Taiwan Province, Hong Kong and Macao working in the Mainland include:

  • People establishing labour relation with employing units;
  • People of Hong Kong and Macao operating individually owned stores in the Mainland; and
  • People establishing labour relation with employing units of Taiwan Province, Hong Kong, Macao or other regions who are sent by the employing units to the Mainland to work for an accumulative period of more than 3 months within a year.
