The Mainland of China : Amendments to the Interim Rules on Setting Up Travel
Agency Majority-owned or Wholly-owned by Foreign Investors

The Ministry of Commerce and the China National Tourism Administration jointly issued a notice on 17 February 2005, which amends the "Interim Rules on Setting Up Travel Agency Majority-owned or Wholly-owned by Foreign Investors. The amendments include the reduction of capital requirement to RMB 2.5 million and the deletion of the provision on geographic restriction. The relevant notice is attached at Annex (pdf format)for reference.
