The Mainland of China :Preliminary Finding of Anti-dumping Investigation Against Imports of Dispersion Unshifted Single-Mode Optical Fiber from the United States, Japan and the Republic of Korea

The Ministry of Commerce issued Notice No. 28/2004 on 16 June 2004, announcing the preliminary finding of the anti-dumping investigation against imports of dispersion unshifted single-mode optical fiber (also known as G652 single-mode optical fiber) from the United States, Japan and the Republic of Korea. The relevant tariff code of the General Administration of Customs is 9001 1000.

PRELIMINARY FINDING

  1. The preliminary finding revealed that dumping existed regarding the investigated products originated in the United States, Japan and the Republic of Korea, with dumping margin ranged from 7% to 46%. It was found that such dumping had caused material injury to the domestic industry and that causal link existed. With effect from 16 June 2004, importers have to provide cash deposit according to the margin of dumping as guarantee to the General Administration of Customs during importation of the products concerned.
     

  2. Interested parties may submit written representation and supporting evidence to the Ministry of Commerce within 20 days from the date of announcement (i.e. 16 June 2004) for their consideration.
