The Mainland of China :Administrative Measures on Foreign-invested Enterprises Engaged in Distribution of Books, Newspaper and Periodicals

The State Press and Publications Administration, and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation jointly promulgated the "Administrative Measures on Foreign-invested Enterprises Engaged in Distribution of Books, Newspaper and Periodicals" on 17 March 2003. The Measures set out the requirements, application and approval procedures for setting up foreign-invested wholesale and retail enterprises in distributing books, newspaper and periodicals. The Measures will come into force on 1 May 2003, except the parts concerning wholesale enterprises of books, newspaper and periodicals which will become effective on 1 December 2004. A copy of the Measures is attached at Annex (pdf format) for reference.
