Commercial Information Circular No. 34/2003

The Mainland of China :Adjustment of Tariff Listing of Steel Products Subject to Safeguard Measures

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC) announced the imposition of final safeguard measures on imports of non alloy hot rolled sheets and coils, non alloy cold rolled sheets and coils, organic coated sheets, silicon-electrical steel and stainless cold rolled sheets and coils for a period of 3 years on 19 November 2002.

  1. According to the 2003 version of the "Customs Import and Export Tariff of the People's Republic of China", the General Administration of Customs issued Notice No. 1/2003 on 9 January 2003 which announced the revised tariff listing of steel products subject to safeguard measures. The revised tariff listing is attached at Annex for reference.

  2. For details of the final result of the subject safeguard investigation, please refer to our CIC No. 224/02 dated 21 November 2002.
