US : Section 301 Tariffs on Mainland Products - Extension of 352 Reinstated Exclusions and 77 COVID-related Exclusions until 31 December 2023
Further to Commercial Information Circulars (CICs) no. 982/2022 of 19 December 2022 and no. 329/2023 of 15 May 2023, the US Trade Representative (USTR) issued a notice on 6 September 2023 announcing the extension of 352 reinstated exclusions and 77 COVID-related exclusions until 31 December 2023.
DETAILS
2.Since July 2018, the US has imposed additional tariffs on Mainland products worth approximately US$370 billion under the Section 301 investigation in four tranches (Lists 1-3: 25%; List 4A: 7.5%). The USTR also initiated exclusion processes for stakeholders to submit requests for the exclusion of specific products from the additional tariffs and granted exclusions periodically on specific products. On 16 December 2022 and 12 May 2023, the USTR announced to extend the 352 reinstated exclusions and 77 medical-care product exclusions respectively through 30 September 2023. 3.On 6 September 2023, the USTR issued a notice announcing the extension of 352 reinstated exclusions and 77 COVID-related exclusions until 31 December 2023.
