US : Safety Standard for Adult Portable Bed Rails

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (Commission) published in the Federal Register (FR) of 21 July 2023 a final rule to require that adult portable bed rails (APBRs) meet the requirements of the existing voluntary standard for APBRs, with modifications.

2.The Commission incorporates by reference standard developed by ASTM International, i.e. ASTM F3186-17: "Standard Specification for Adult Portable Bed Rails and Related Products".
