Commercial Information Circular No. 377/2023

Argentina : Duties on Laptops and Tablets

The Argentine government issued Decree No. 136/2023 to cease the duty-free treatment given to laptops, tablets and other products classified under Southern Common Market (Mercosur1) Common Classification (NCM) codes 8471.30.12, 8471.30.19 and 8471.30.90; and raise the duty for products classified under NCM code 8471.30.11. All concerned products will now face a 16% duty.

1 The Southern Common Market (Mercosur) includes Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela. Membership of Venezuela has been temporarily suspended since 2 December 2016.
