Commercial Information Circular No. 915/2022

Brazil : Mandatory Merchandise Description Requirements

Brazil issued COANA Directive 95/2022 to amend COANA Directive 81/2022 requiring import declarations to include mandatory merchandise descriptions and specifications for a range of tariff lines, including the following products:

  • self-copy paper classified under Southern Common Market (Mercosur1) Common Classification (NCM) code 4809.20.00;
  • textured yarn of nylon measuring per single yarn not more than 500 decitex classified under NCM subheading 5402.31.1;
  • t-shirts, singlets, tank tops and similar garments of cotton classified under NCM code 6109.10.00;
  • clothes dryers with a drum capacity no greater than 23 litres classified under NCM code 8421.12.10; and
  • playing cards classified under NCM code 9504.40.00.
