Mexico : Good Manufacturing Practices for Cosmetic Products

The Mexican government has adopted new minimum requirements for good manufacturing practices for cosmetic products as set out in mandatory standard NOM-259-SSA1-2022.

DETAILS

2.The new standard includes provisions on personnel, physical facilities, services, equipment and accessories, raw materials and packaging materials, manufacturing process, transport, quality control, finished and reprocessed products, products in bulk, complaints, returns and recalls, documentation and deviations from specified requirements.

3.The standard entered into force on 3 September 2022 whereas the documentation system requirements will apply from 1 January 2023 and the facilities and services requirements will apply from 2 March 2023.
