Dear Sirs,

Commercial Information Circular No. 776/2022

Canada : Antidumping and Countervailing Actions against Mattresses from the Mainland of China: Final Determinations

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 562/2022 dated 8 July 2022 regarding the Canadian authorities' preliminary determinations of antidumping (AD) and countervailing (CVD) investigations against mattresses from the Mainland of China, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced on 5 October 2022 the final determinations of dumping and subsidizing. The weighted-average dumping margins are found to be 0.0% - 146.6%, whereas the amounts of subsidy are 0.0% - 24.1%. Provisional duties will continue to apply until the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) announces its final determination on injury to the domestic industry by 4 November 2022. Where the CITT determines an injury, the CBSA will impose final AD and CVD duties on imports of the subject goods for the next five years. In the case of no injury found, all the proceedings will be terminated and the provisional duties will be returned.

2.CBSA's announcement of the final determinations of dumping and subsidizing is available at https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/sima-lmsi/i-e/mat2022/mat2022-nf-eng.html.
