Argentina : Energy Efficiency Requirements for Electric Ovens
The Argentine government published Resolution No. 1017/2021 to announce the implementation of the energy efficiency requirements for household electric ovens, including portable, built-in and kitchen-incorporated ovens, classified under Southern Common Market (Mercosur1) Common Classification (NCM) code 8516.60.00.
2.Effective 90 days from the date of issuance of a notice of recognition of the first test laboratory and the first certification body, importers and domestic producers of subject merchandise will be required to certify the merchandise for compliance with the energy efficiency requirements of standards IRAM 62414-1 and IRAM 62414-2 as well as those set forth in the Resolution.
3.Effective 210 days from the date of issuance of the notice of recognition, certified electric ovens will be required to carry a self-adhesive energy efficiency label on the front of the oven.

1 The Southern Common Market (Mercosur) includes Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela. Membership of Venezuela has been temporarily suspended since 2 December 2016.
