Mexico : New Energy Efficiency Standard for Air-cooled Alternating Current Motors

The Mexican government has adopted energy efficiency requirements for air-cooled alternating current motors. The requirements as set out in NOM-033-ENER-2019 will enter into force on 18 November 2021.

DETAILS

2.The new standard establishes minimum energy efficiency requirements for air-cooled alternating current motors, with a nominal voltage of up to 240V and a nominal power of 1W or more and less than 180W, of 2, 4, 6 poles and squirrel cage induction as well as electronically switched motors. It also sets out, among others, specifications, test method, marking and conformity assessment procedure for the products concerned.
