Commercial Information Circular No. 709/2021

Brazil : New Requirements for Personal Hygiene and Cosmetic Products

The National Health Agency ("Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária" in Portuguese/ANVISA) of Brazil issued Resolutions No. 528/2021, No. 529/2021 and No. 530/2021 to announce three regulations related to personal hygiene, cosmetic and perfume products, including (a) setting forth a list of 60 preservative substances allowed in these products; (b) identifying 1,404 substances that cannot be used in these products; and (c) setting forth a list of more than 100 elements that may not be included in these products. Subject merchandise must comply with the new requirements within 36 months from 11 August 2021.
