Commercial Information Circular No. 425/2021

Argentina : Technical and Energy Efficiency Requirements for Certain LED Lamps

The Argentine government published Disposition No. 1/2021 to announce the staged implementation of new technical and energy efficiency requirements for certain LED lamps classified under Southern Common Market (Mercosur1) Common Classification (NCM) code 8539.50.00 for general lighting purposes.

2.Subject LED lamps are required to comply with the technical requirements of standard IRAM 62404-3-2017 as well as any related provisions of Resolution 795/2019, and must carry an energy efficiency label.

3.Importers and domestic producers of subject merchandise must submit proof of initiation of the conformity certification process issued by a recognised certification body and present the corresponding test programme issued by a recognised and approved test laboratory by 3 July 2021. The conformity certification requirements will enter into force on 5 March 2022.
