Colombia : Expansion of Restrictions on Imports of Mercury-Containing Products

The Colombian government issued Decree No. 419/2021 on 22 April 2021 to announce the broadening of its restrictions on the importation of mercury and mercury-containing products by banning the manufacture, importation and exportation of mercury-added products listed in Annex A, Part I of the Minamata Convention on Mercury. The ban applies to all products listed in Decree No. 419/2021 with immediate effect, except for products that were effectively shipped to Colombia or that were in a primary customs area or free zone prior to the date of issuance of this regulation.
