Commercial Information Circular No. 446/2020

Mexico : Amended Minimum Estimated Prices for Textile, Apparel and Footwear Products

The Mexican government has amended the minimum estimated prices for a range of textile, apparel and footwear products, and added two textile tariff lines, Mexican Harmonised Tariff Schedule (HTSMX) codes 5602.21.99 and 5603.12.99, to the list of products subject to estimated prices.

2.According to Mexican authorities, the minimum estimated prices are used for the valuation of certain goods subject to automatic licencing in order to avoid undervaluation as well as tax evasion. The estimated prices are employed only as a reference or guideline and may not be used to determine the customs value of the good. Importers must deposit a security in order to import any goods subject to an estimated price.
