Mexico : Import Ban on Electronic Cigarettes and Mixtures and Solutions Used with Electronic Cigarettes

The Mexican government banned the importation of electronic cigarettes as well as mixtures and solutions used with electronic cigarettes from 20 February 2020 and created three new tariff breakouts to enforce the ban. The ban covers electronic cigarettes, electronic nicotine delivery systems, alternative nicotine consumption systems and similar devices under Mexican Harmonised Tariff Schedule (HTSMX) code 8543.70.18; parts of these devices under HTSMX code 8543.90.03; and mixtures and substances used with these devices under HTSMX code 3824.90.83.
