Dear Sirs,

Commercial Information Circular No. 296/2020

US : Countervailing Action against Mattresses from the Mainland of China: Institution of Investigation and Scheduling of Preliminary Phase Investigation

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) announced in the Federal Register (FR) notice of 7 April 2020 the institution of investigation and commencement of preliminary phase countervailing duty investigation pursuant to the Tariff Act of 1930 to determine whether there is a reasonable indication that an industry in the US is materially injured or threatened with material injury, or the establishment of an industry in the US is materially retarded, by reason of imports of mattresses from the Mainland of China that are alleged to be subsidised by the Government of the People's Republic of China. A copy of the FR notice is available at: https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2020-04-07/pdf/2020-07207.pdf.

2.Interested parties wishing to participate in the investigation should file an entry of appearance with ITC not later than seven days after publication of the FR notice. Written submissions should reach ITC on or before 27 April 2020.
