Commercial Information Circular No. 567/2019

Colombia : Imposition of Safeguard Tariff on Certain Bars and Rods

The Colombian government issued Decree No. 367/2019 to impose a safeguard tariff of 8.5% on concrete reinforcing bars and rods of iron or non-alloy steel, classified under Colombian Harmonised Tariff Schedule (HTSCO) codes 7213.10.0000 and 7214.20.0000, for a period of two years.

2.Subject merchandise that qualifies for preferential duty free treatment under the Free Trade Agreement with Colombia, or being imported under the Plan Vallejo Programme to Colombia, is excluded from relevant safeguard measure.
