Commercial Information Circular No. 27/2019

US : Uniform Compliance Date for Food Labeling Regulations

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published in the Federal Register (FR) of 20 December 2018 a final rule establishing 1 January 2022 as the uniform compliance date for food labeling regulations that are published on or after 1 January 2019, and on or before 31 December 2020.  The relevant FR notice is available at: https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2018-12-20/pdf/2018-27429.pdf. 

2.This final rule does not intend to change the existing requirements for compliance dates contained in final rules published before 1 January 2019. All such final rules will go into effect on the date stated in the respective FR notice.

3.Interested parties may submit to the FDA comments on this final rule by 19 February 2019.
