The US Department of Commerce (DoC) announced in the Federal Register (FR) notice of 21 September 2018 the preliminary affirmative determination that countervailable subsidies were being provided to producers and exporters of certain quartz surface products from the Mainland of China. The countervailing duty rates were found to be 34.38% - 178.45%. The FR notice is available at: https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2018-09-21/pdf/2018-20604.pdf.
2.On 6 June 2018, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) already issued its preliminary affirmative determination that there was a reasonable indication that an industry in the US was materially injured by reason of imports of certain quartz surface products from the Mainland of China.
