Commercial Information Circular No. 565/2018

US : Safety Standard for Non-Full-Size Baby Cribs

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (Commission) published in the Federal Register (FR) of 6 June 2018 a direct final rule revising the safety standard for non-full-size baby cribs.

2.The revision is to incorporate by reference a more recent version of the applicable ASTM standard as developed by ASTM International, i.e. ASTM F406-17: "Standard Consumer Safety Performance Specification for Non-Full Size Baby Cribs/Play Yards", except for the provisions of ASTM F406-17 that apply to play yards.

3.The rule is effective on 10 September 2018. If the Commission receives significant adverse comments by 6 July 2018, it will withdraw the direct final rule before its effective date. Relevant FR notice is available at: https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2018-06-06/pdf/2018-12021.pdf.
