Commercial Information Circular No. 424/2018
Brazil : Modification of Import Tariffs on Various Products
The Brazilian government has modified the import tariffs of a number of products, and established tariff rate quota on certain imports. A summary of the changes is set out as follows:
- Certain information technology and telecommunications goods classified under Southern Common Market (Mercosur1) Common Classification (NCM) chapters 84, 85 and 90 to benefit from duty free treatment until 31 December 2019.
- Certain capital goods classified under NCM chapters 82, 84, 85, 86, 87, 89 and 90 to benefit from duty free treatment until 31 December 2019.
- Certain fixed capacitors and other apparatus classified under NCM codes 8532.21.20, 8532.24.20 and 8536.90.60 to benefit from a reduced duty of 2%.
- Certain diodes classified under NCM codes 8541.10.22 and 8541.10.29 to benefit from a reduced duty of 2%.
