US : Countervailing Action against Forged Steel Fittings from the Mainland of China : Preliminary Affirmative Countervailing Duty Determination

The US Department of Commerce (DoC) announced in the Federal Register (FR) notice of 14 March 2018 the preliminary affirmative determination that countervailable subsidies were being provided to producers and exporters of forged steel fittings from the Mainland of China. The countervailing duty rate was found to be 13.79%. The FR notice is available at: https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2018-03-14/pdf/2018-05154.pdf.

2.On 27 November 2017, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) already issued its preliminary affirmative determination that there was a reasonable indication that an industry in the US was materially injured by reason of imports of forged steel fittings from the Mainland of China. The investigation will now proceed to the final phase. If the final determination of the DoC is affirmative, the ITC will make its final determination on whether an industry in the US is materially injured or threatened with material injury, by reason of imports of forged steel fittings from the Mainland of China within 45 days after the DoC's final determination.
