Commercial Information Circular No. 258/2018

US : EnergyGuide Labels for Certain Home Appliances

The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued in the Federal Register (FR) of 22 February 2018 a final rule to amend the Energy Labeling Rule by updating ranges of comparability and unit energy cost figures on EnergyGuide labels for dishwashers, furnaces, room air conditioners, and pool heaters. The amendments will take effect on 23 May 2018.

2.Separately, the FTC also set a compliance date of 1 October 2019 for EnergyGuide labels on room air conditioner packages and made several minor clarifications and corrections to the Energy Labeling Rule.
