Canada : Antidumping and Countervailing Actions against Certain Sucker Rods from the Mainland of China: Final Determinations
Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 786/2018 dated 17 August 2018 regarding the Canadian authorities' preliminary determinations of anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing (CVD) investigations against certain sucker rods from the Mainland of China, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced on 14 November 2018 the final determinations of dumping and subsidizing. The weighted-average dumping margins are found to be 100.4% - 149.9%, whereas the amounts of subsidy per piece are RMB 5.81 - RMB 119.54 (equivalent to 2.8% - 68.1% of export price). Provisional duties will continue to apply until the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) announces its final determination on injury to the domestic industry by 14 December 2018. Where the CITT determines an injury, the CBSA will impose final AD and CVD duties on imports of the subject goods for the next five years. In the case of no injury found, all the proceedings will be terminated and the provisional duties will be returned.
