Commercial Information Circular No. 829/2017

US : Formaldehyde Emission Standards for Composite Wood Products - Compliance Date Extension

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 424/2017 dated 25 May 2017 regarding formaldehyde emission standards for composite wood products and the compliance dates, the Environmental Protection Agency published in the Federal Register (FR) of 25 September 2017 a final rule to extend the compliance dates with respect to emission standards, recordkeeping, labelling provisions, import certification provisions, laminated product provisions and transitional period for accreditation bodies, in order to address the concerns raised by industry stakeholders.  The new compliance dates range from 12 December 2018 to 22 March 2024.  For details, please refer to the FR notice, which is available at https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2017-09-25/pdf/2017-19455.pdf.
