Commercial Information Circular No. 533/2017
Argentina : Prohibition of Used Clothing
The Argentine government issued Decree No. 333/2017 to ban the import of used textiles and clothing products classified under Southern Common Market (Mercosur1) Common Classification (NCM) codes 6309.00.10 and 6309.00.90 for a period of five years. Donations of used clothing in accordance with articles 146 (a) and (c), and 148 (b), (d) and (e) of the Civil and Commercial Code of the Nation ("Código Civil y Comercial de la Nación" in Spanish) are excluded from the prohibition.

The Southern Common Market (Mercosur) includes Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela. Membership of Venezuela has been temporarily suspended since 2 December 2016.
