Commercial Information Circular No. 256/2017

Venezuela : Duty-Free Treatment to Certain Food and Agricultural Products

The Venezuelan government issued Decree No. 2503/2016 to announce the duty-free treatment to certain food and agricultural products classified under chapters 1, 2, 4, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21 and 23 of Venezuelan Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSVE). Importers wishing to be exempted from import duties must provide a list of the imported goods with applicable commercial invoice and a certificate issued by the Ministry of Food to Venezuelan Customs showing that there is no domestic production or insufficient domestic production of the subject products.
