Brazil : Labelling Requirements for Skin Tanning Products
The National Health Agency ("Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária" in Portuguese/ ANVISA) of Brazil issued Resolution RDC No. 126/2016 on 30 November 2016 to clarify the definitions and modify the labelling requirements for three types of skin tanning products. The concerned products are (a) sun tanning lotions; (b) simulated bronzers; and (c) tanning activators/ accelerators. Tanning activators must be labelled with "This is not a sun blocker" on both primary and secondary packaging. Companies are given 180 days, for compliance, from 1 December 2016.
