Mexico : Standards for Certain Products

The Mexico government has issued new/updated/extended mandatory standards for certain products.

  • Standard NOM-114-SCFI-2016 includes requirements regarding classification, technical specifications, sampling and test methods, commercial information and safety marking, conformity assessment procedures and enforcement.
  • Effective 24 April 2017.

  • Standard NOM-146-SCFI-2016 includes provisions on classification and designation, technical specifications, sampling, test methods, commercial information, conformity assessment and enforcement.
  • Effective 4 May 2017.

  • Standard NOM-EM-018-SCFI-2016 comprises of specifications, limits and test methods.
  • Effective for 6 months from 9 February 2017 with the possibility of being renewed for another 6 months.

  • Standard NOM-EM-017-SCFI-2016 comprises of specifications, limits and test methods.
  • Effective until 9 September 2017.

  • Standard NOM-012-NUCL-2016 includes definitions, general and specific requirements, registration requirements, physical verification, testing and conformity assessment procedures.
  • Effective 17 March 2017.
