Commercial Information Circular No. 162/2017

Chile : Conformity Certification Requirements for Various Products

The Chilean government issued Exempt Resolution No. 19/2016 on 2 November 2016 to require (i) non-metallic tubes with a nominal diameter up to 250mm for underground electrical installations; (ii) flexible non-metallic tubes for underground electrical installations; (iii) cellular phone chargers; (iv) dehumidifiers; and (v) aluminum cylinder of liquefied petroleum gas for automotive use to obtain a certificate of compliance with safety requirements issued by a certification body authorised by the Superintendence of Electricity and Fuels ("Superintendencia de Electricidad y Combustibles" in Spanish) prior to their commercialisation in Chile.
